The Indian Navy (Directorate of Manpower Planning & Recruitment, Naval Headquarters, New Delhi) has released an official recruitment notification inviting online applications from unmarried male and unmarried female candidates for enrolment as Agniveer (SSR) for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. This recruitment is conducted under the Agnipath Scheme introduced by the Government of India. Selected candidates will serve in the Indian Navy for a period of four years and will form a distinct rank known as Agniveer, which is the junior-most rank in the Navy. During the service period, candidates will receive professional training, allowances, and benefits as per Navy rules. After completion of four years, up to 25% of candidates may be selected for permanent enrolment based on performance, while others will receive a financial package called Seva Nidhi.

>10+2 with Mathematics & Physics and minimum 50% aggregate marks from recognized board.
>OR 3 years Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Computer/IT etc.) with 50% marks.
>OR 2 years Vocational Course with Physics & Mathematics with 50% marks.
>Candidates appearing in 12th exam are also eligible (must produce marksheet later).

Online exam with 100 questions covering English, Science, Maths and General Awareness. Duration is 1 hour with negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answers.
2. Shortlisting
Candidates will be shortlisted state-wise based on INET marks/scores. Cut-off varies by state by state.
3. Stage II Process
Includes Physical Fitness Test, Written Examination and Medical Examination.
4. Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Male: 1.6 Km run in 6 min 30 sec, 20 squats, 15 push-ups, 15 sit-ups
Female: 1.6 Km run in 8 min, 15 squats, 10 sit-ups
5. Stage II Written Exam
Will be conducted for 100 questions, for 1 hour duration, same subjects as Stage I.
6. Medical Examination
Conducted by military doctors including height (157 cm), vision test, physical and mental fitness test.
7. Final Merit List
Based on Stage II performance and medical fitness final merit list will be published.
